About the Role

The EMEA Retail design project manager is responsible for the implementation across the Region of the global brand visual strategy through visual merchandising tools and events for Local Markets and Travel Retail. Part of a merchandising taskforce, S/He will also be in charge of implementing/improving new processes and tools for Merchandising, coordinating with Global team and Head of Merchandising.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Visual Merchandising – permanent/semi-permanent
    • Work closely with Global VM and EMEA Head of merchandising to deliver ad hoc design proposals for display, in harmony with the assortments provided by Marketing on all merchandising systems.
    • Adapt global design created by Global Teams for key regional retailers and communicate them to markets.
    • Work with Regional & HQ teams to develop enhanced visualization and product presentation in-store to support selected collections, launches and KCP and be winning in the Region.
    • Lead the development and production of any merchandising elements that may be required: point of contact for the suppliers from design into technical phase, prototype and production.
    • Provide clarifications to any Brand Manager's queries on VM-related issues and in regular contact with the local teams.
    • Periodically visit doors to ensure all visual/planograms guidelines are followed, to guarantee qualitative and up to level implementations.
    • Analyze industry trends (materials and technologies innovations) in the Region and share findings with regional and global teams.
    • Monitor and optimize the cost of the production of the different tools for the brands.
  • Visual Merchandising – temporary
    • Adapt global guidelines for key regional retailers temporary animations (podiums, windows, animation gondolas, head of gondolas).
    • Work with Regional & HQ teams to develop enhanced visualization and product presentation in-store to support selected collections, launches and KCP in the Region.
    • Supervise the development and production of temporary animations, constantly in contact with local teams and occasionally with suppliers.
    • Periodically visit doors to ensure all visual guidelines are followed.
    • Analyse industry trends (materials and technologies innovations) in the Region and share findings with regional and global teams.
    • Monitor and optimize the cost of the production of the different tools for the brands.
  • Events
    • Work closely with markets to interpret the brand vision and support the overall brand strategy through events and with Local Marketing Teams to support each Marketing program.
    • Lead the design adaptation of Global Events Guidelines to markets and channels' specific needs. 
    • Be the primary recipient of all design requests for windows & events, validate requests and take action as required.
    • In connection with all relevant parties, manage major PR & in-store events from design conception to implementation, ensuring all project milestones are reached on time and within budget

Qualifications

  • College University graduate in Design or Interior Architecture
  • Extensive experience (8/10 years) in Retail design and Visual Merchandising
  • Ideal candidates should have relevant experience in beauty, prestige fashion, high-end retail.
  • Strong expertise in production techniques/materials/finishings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Sketchup (or other 3D rendering programs)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels, both verbally and through drawings
  • Able to understand architectural details and construction drawings
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to multitask
  • Strong sense of deadlines
  • Highly driven, energetic, flexible, and team-spirited
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to execute flawlessly, and strong project management skills
  • Willing and able to travel
  • International experience is a plus
